ALICANTE

Alicante is a city with more than 3000 year history, with a privileged location in between the mountains and the sea it has a special beauty. It counts a population of more than 300.000 inhabitants and has a great cultural, touristic and commercial offer.

The most representative images of the city are the Explanada, a promenade that runs parallel to the sea at the marina and which has a characteristic paving of red, white and black tiles and takes us through several spots, terraces and ice cream parlors. The Castillo de Santa Bárbara, one of the biggest medieval fortresses of Spain offers the most spectacular views of the city and is the location for celebrating several cultural activities, even more during the nights in summer time.

In the old center we can enjoy a quiet walk through the narrow and steep streets and visit the Basílica de Santa María, the Catedral de San Nicolás de Bari or the Santa Cruz neighborhood, an area of traffic free streets and White houses with geraniums on the highest part. This area, known as “the neighborhood”, is, together with the commercial area of the port, the heart of the Alicante night life.
