Sounds good, doesn’t it?

If you’ve come this far, that’s you who we described. Now you want to know if we have an answer for you. You’re in luck. Of course, we do! Stay with us because we are going to give you not one but 5 reasons, out of the many, many we could give you, why Orihuela Costa should be your next destination. Not only as a place to spend your holidays but also, why not, to consider living here.
The weather in Orihuela Costa
Tired of storm clouds and freezing temperatures? Well, here is the first of our reasons to come. An ideal climate that encourages you to enjoy each and every day to the fullest.
Orihuela Costa is located in the province of Alicante, on the east coast of the Iberian Peninsula. In this area, we enjoy an average temperature of 17º and more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Of course, we also have rainy days and from time to time we need them to stay at home under the shelter of a warm blanket and a hot chocolate while watching the drops hitting the window, this is not the norm. Here we love the sun and when we don’t have it, even for a short time, we miss it a lot.
Warm temperatures and sunshine almost all year round. A good start, isn’t it?
Endless golden sandy beaches with calm, clear waters.
We were talking before about enjoying the rays of sun on our faces and the pleasant feeling of the sand rubbing against our feet as we stroll with the murmur of the sea in the background. So, we cannot forget another of our great attractions: our fantastic beaches.
In Orihuela Costa, and by extension in the province of Alicante, you can find any type of beach you are looking for. We have them in all shapes and colors. From bustling sandy beaches full of life and fun to hidden coves where you can get away from the world for a while.
Specifically, we have 16 km. of coastline where safe beaches are the norm, with blue flags and the “Q” quality mark. A guarantee to spend a nice time with the family, to get lost where no one can find you, or to get fully involved in multiple ranges of water sports. We provide the means, the rest is up to you.
After a nice walk on the beach enjoying our wonderful weather, it is normal that you’re bound to work up an appetite and want to have a drink. But how good is the food in Orihuela Costa?
We can only answer with one adjective: Great! And anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. What are we going to tell you, right? You have no choice but to come and try everything the area has to offer. Freshly produced vegetables or seafood. Whatever you fancy.
A good cocido con pelotas, a wonderful turkey stew, our famous paella, or one of our most typical dishes: arroz y costra or arroz con costra. A real delicacy. Oh, and all made from the natural products that our fertile vegetable garden gives us.
Are you more of a fish person? No problem. What about a good sea bream in salt? or, why not, a seafood paella… My goodness, doesn’t it make your mouth water?
On the other hand, we also have a large quantity of local cured and salted meats, and, above all, award-winning confectionery. Glory cakes, valarinos, yemas, chatos… those with a sweet tooth will have a great time.
Are you hungry for more? The whole province of Alicante is just a stone’s throw away, as we are very close to its most important sites and towns.
You are taking good note of all the reasons, aren’t you? Well, wait, we still have a couple more to convince you that Orihuela Costa has to be your next destination. For an unforgettable holiday or to stay and live.
History, Culture, and Leisure
After that stroll along the beach, a good meal and, of course, a comforting nap (one of our secret pleasures), how about a bit of cultural sightseeing, or perhaps a shopping session?
If you fancy learning a little more about the history of Orihuela Costa and its surroundings, a visit to the Torre de Cabo Roig, located very close to the beach of the same name, is a must. In the 15th century, it was used to warn of the arrival of pirates on Orihuela’s coasts. On the other hand, our proximity to the towns of Orihuela, Alicante, or Elche puts at your disposal all the cultural, gastronomic, and leisure richness of these towns, which is no small thing. It only takes a little more than 30 minutes by car to visit El Palmeral de Elche, explore monumental Orihuela or stroll along the battlements of the castle of Santa Bárbara in Alicante. Standing imposingly in front of the Mediterranean Sea next to the Postiguet Beach and its famous Esplanade. There are many options for a cultural day out.
However, if you are more into shopping, window-shopping, and, why not, treating yourself, then you can’t miss the La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre. More than 150 different outdoor shops combined with a wide variety of leisure and restaurant facilities make it one of the largest shopping centers not only in the area but in the whole of the Mediterranean basin.
Golf in Orihuela Costa
We come to the last of our reasons to encourage you to come and this time we thought it would be good to appeal to that sportsman in you.
Do you like golf? Then you have no excuse. You have to come, one way or another.
Multiple different courses are waiting for you to take up the challenge, all very close to each other and with great ratings on Tripadvisor. And not only that, if you still want more, Alicante, Aspe, and even Benidorm are not far away, and sure you have played holes that were further away!
