La Manga is a narrow strip of land that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor. It is 24 kilometers long and has an average width of 300 metres. It is located in the region of Murcia. The great climate of the area makes it possible to practise all types of nautical sports throughout the whole year. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy the sun and the beach all year round. If you visit this area we recommend that you visit their beautiful beaches with clear blue water and taste the delicious gastronomy of Murcia.
If you want to go to the beach you can sunbathe on the beaches of Mediterranean Sea or swim in the Mar Menor. The water of the Mar Menor has a high concentration of salts and iodines and is beneficial for your health. This sea is very calm and the temperature of the water is higher that of the Mediterranean Sea.
La Manga is a paradise for sports lovers thanks to its calm waters. There are four marinas and eleven sailing schools. You can practise all kinds of nautical sports such as sailing, windsurfing, catamarans, canoeing, water skiing, boating and diving. You can also play other sports such as paddle, tennis, golf, squash, go-karting, cycling, skating, equestrian, parachuting, hang-gliding and climbing.
The area has all types of services such as bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, banks, international schools, medical services, pharmacies, golf courses, yacht clubs and the bus service which runs up and down the coastline.
